New UX Conference in Phoenix, April 2-3!!

The ninth annual Internet User Experience conference - IUE 2013 - is coming to Phoenix on April 2-3, 2013. The conference highlights top industry speakers, practitioners, and authors to provide attendees with a complete package of Internet user experience design training, case studies, and real-world examples. This is the conference's first appearance in Phoenix.


This year's conference will be held at the Tempe Mission Palms, which is located in the heart of the Mill Avenue District.

The conference goal is to foster improving today's user experience for the internet which includes web, tablet, and mobile sites and applications as they are used in an expanding range of situations and environments.

Senior Content Strategist, PayPal Scottsdale (Contractor/Consultant Position)

PayPal is seeking a Senior Content Strategist with a strong background in web content, payments industry experience, and the ability to write concisely and effectively, convey PayPal voice and strategy, and collaborate effectively with user interface designers, visual designers, and product teams.

The Senior Content Strategist is expected to become expert in a product area, to execute quickly and efficiently, and work effectively with team to produce online content such as technical overviews and procedures. The candidate will also be expected to become proficient in PayPal product development life cycle and related processes.

Responsibilities:

• Create compelling content based on user needs, business objectives, and product knowledge
• Become a subject matter expert in assigned product areas
• Collaborate effectively with user interface and visual designers, product managers, and developers
• Present your work and communicate your content strategy to your teams
• Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of content strategy, and push towards continuous content improvement

Requirements are:

• Excellent oral, written, and editing skills

• Experience in Agile or Lean UX environment preferred
• Experience in B2B e-commerce, financial services, payments, or retail industries
• Minimum 5 years of professional writing experience, with 3 years writing web content
• Ability to craft creative solutions to enable a better user experience

The 2012 Arizona World Usability Day (WUD) event will be held on Thursday, November 8, 6-9 p.m. in Scottsdale. This year’s WUD topic is Usability of Financial Systems.

Our keynote speaker will be Rick Tilghman, Senior Director of Global Design at Paypal.
