Hey everyone,
I wanted to get a gauge for where everyone is located in the Phoenix area or Arizona as a whole. When you get a chance, please email me at chris_brya AT choicehotels dot com and let me know what area in the valley you would be coming from for potential meeting location selection.
I have my company's corporate office and conference room in mind for initial meetings, but I don't want to use that if it's too far from most people.
Thanks.
PS: Can you believe it's already July?

UPA Conference & AZ Chapter Update
Hey everyone,
Long time no see. I just got back from the UPA International Conference in Baltimore last week and wanted to update you all on the progress we're making for setting up the Arizona Chapter of UPA.
Good news is that I met with some key management at UPA to finalize details and it looks as though we're about ready to setup a first meeting and chapter leadership roles.
Finally.
For those of you that have expressed interest in the leadership committee, I have your names and interest, but since it's been a few months since we last spoke, I wanted to ask that you reaffirm that you still have an interest and I will update the leadership roles and distribute that accordingly.
Also, if you have usability or related fieled colleagues that would be interested in joining the group, advise of them of this blog and have them enter their email address to subscribe to regular updates.
I look forward to seeing/meeting/hearing from you all soon to finalize our charter. We'll be in touch.
Talk to you soon!

Next steps for Arizona UPA
Hey everyone,
I wanted to touch base with you all on our progress. We will be announcing officer selections for our board here this month and will be finalizing our documentation with the national UPA in January.
My hope is to have our first meeting by the end of January once we can coordinate all of the paperwork with the UPA.
I'll keep you up to speed on our progress and will have more communications for you as we near our meeting date over the next 4-6 weeks.
Thanks. Talk to you soon.

Arizona UPA Update
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that our chapter setup is poking along. UPA has most of the requisite materials but I still need a couple of pieces of information from them.
I also need to reach out to a couple of people that wanted leadership roles that have not yet responded. But I will get our group on board soon.
I think we could probably make a November or December impromptu meet/greet in Phoenix, but more on that as we get the chapter setup at UPA.
I'll continue to be in touch. Thanks!

Questions For The Group
I have questions for you:
What do you want to achieve through your involvement in the Arizona Chapter of the UPA?
In other words, what areas of focus, topics or information would you like to see or learn more about and/or what kind of experience (hey, there's a buzzword) are you hoping to achieve with your participation?
Let me know via email or post a comment on the blog. I'd like to get a barometer for what your expectations are.
I'll provide a summary of the feedback I receive so you can see what others are hoping to get out of this chapter.
Thanks again. Talk to you soon.

Arizona UPA Progress
I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. For most of us, it's now back to work. I did also want to update you that I believe we have the required number of people (that have committed) to joining an Arizona chapter of the UPA.
I also think we have the right people in place for initial leadership positions to get this chapter off the ground. On that note, I will be contacting individuals that I've identified as having the ability, time and abilities needed for taking on a leadership role next week.
Once I can get firm commitments from our initial leadership group, I will announce them to you all and we can get started with the next steps of the chapter formation and following the requisite guidelines with the UPA Association office for chapter approval.
Thanks. I'll be in touch.
